Did You Know?
The inspirational story behind the Sonic Cosmic Rope series is a traditional Korean folktale about two siblings escaping a wild tiger by climbing a rope appearing from the sky.Description
Made solely of tiny bells connected with rings, Sonic Cosmic Rope is designed to be hung vertically from a ceiling and to be activated by shaking or hitting manually to create sounds of metallic rattle and jingling. In this sense, this piece can be regarded as performative, requiring activation.- 2022–?Collection of the Artist?–2024Mrs. Hyun-Sook Lee, Kukje Gallery, Seoul, South Korea, given to the Cleveland Museum of Art2024–The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH
