Description

Portraiture was one of Carlos Orozco Romero's preferred subjects throughout his career. Here, the sitter is seen in profile, looking forward within a dark space that is highlighted by her coral earrings and necklace. Romero specifically eschewed European influence in favor of indigenous Mexican style and themes.
