This past summer, students and staff at the CMA gathered to celebrate the achievements of the inaugural class of the Eric and Jane Nord Family Network program. Now entering its second year, the program provides professional opportunities and financial support in the form of stipends to aspiring young professionals who are interested in pursuing a career in an art museum. The goal of the program is to remove historical barriers to access and develop the next generation of museum professionals by offering students high-quality, competitively compensated work experiences with renowned experts in the world-class facilities at the CMA.
The cohort worked in a variety of departments across the museum, including conservation, education, interpretation, and collections. The celebration marked the culmination of the program’s first year and provided students the opportunity to share details of their projects and the skills and knowledge they gained with CMA staff and leadership.
