Description

From 1955 to 1960, O. Winston Link documented the vanishing of the steam locomotive, focusing on the Norfolk & Western Railway’s tracks through parts of Western Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Maryland. This dramatic night scene of a locomotive crossing the small town of Luray, Virginia, demonstrates his unparalleled techniques for nighttime motion photography.
