Did You Know?

Seifū Yohei III was inspired by the Chinese mythical animals that were common on porcelain objects made at Jingdezhen in China during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644) and then exported around the world.

Description

Each of these sake cups pictures two backward-looking dragons. The highly stylized creatures resemble jade carvings.
Six white porcelain cups with reddish-brown rims are arranged in a shallow arc. Each rounded vessel tapers toward a circular base encircled by two thin blue lines. Designs of dark blue dragons twisting through stylized clouds wrap around the center of each cup's exterior. The interiors are smooth and white.
