Description

The Lamba SARL studio used this drawing to plan out the patterns and colors of the large-scale weaving called Raitra Marosoratra, commissioned and acquired by the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2021.
Graphite and paint on horizontal paper feature bunches of colored silk thread taped across the top edge. Below, vibrant rectangular swatches in red, blue, green, and orange align vertically with the threads. Intricate geometric patterns fill the bottom third in columns separated by fine lines. Handwritten notes occupy the upper left corner, structuring the page as a technical map of raw material, color, and textile design.
