Description

Throughout her career Zilia Sánchez has turned repeatedly to female warriors for inspiration. The title Troyanas invokes the legendary women of Troy, and the strength they displayed while mourning the loss of their land. The serial bimorphic-shaped canvas panels evoke lines of female warriors standing together as one powerful unit or army, suggesting the collective power of women.
