Did You Know?

William Sommer learned about Impressionism from fellow lithographer and Cleveland artist, Abel Warshawsky.
A vertically oriented black-and-white lithograph depicts a boy with light skin tone seated on a stool, hands in his lap and legs crossed at the shins. He has wavy hair and prominent, wide eyes. He wears a patterned cardigan over a collared shirt. Coarse, grained shading defines the figure and paneled walls, while diagonal strips of light illuminate the floor to our right.
