Did You Know?

William Sommer learned about Impressionism from fellow lithographer and Cleveland artist, Abel Warshawsky.
A vertically oriented lithograph depicts a boy with a light skin tone seated on a chair, facing us. He wears a buttoned jacket, shorts, and tall socks with geometric zigzag patterns. His hands rest in his lap while his feet, in dark boots, dangle above the floor. To our right, the chair has a curved back. Soft gray shading and fine lines define the figure, illuminated from our left against a draped background.
