A horizontally oriented etching in black ink depicts hooded figures in heavily folded robes gathered before a massive, pointed stone gateway. Shaded with fine hash marks, the weathered archway contains a deep, shadowy interior. In the foreground, figures stand with pack animals; one person mounted on a donkey faces right. To the right, a high, notched wall and buildings recede into the distance, suggested by delicate, atmospheric lines.
