A vertically oriented tan manuscript page features eleven lines of Persian calligraphy written with black ink. A thin gold and colored border frames the central text block. The aged paper has irregular edges and a vertical column of small circular holes along the right side. In the bottom-left margin sits a small numeral. The elegant, curving script is set against the textured, unadorned background of the wide margins.
