One side of a vertically oriented tan page features eleven lines of Nasta'liq script, a style of Persian calligraphy, written in black ink. The fluid text is arranged within a rectangular frame bounded by thin gold and black borders. The aged paper is mottled, displaying a lighter tone behind the script and darker, stained margins. The right edge is irregular and torn, containing several small holes. Faint text shows through from the other side.
