A sepia photogravure depicts an older Nez Percé man with a medium skin tone from the shoulders up, facing us. He wears a tall feathered headdress over a patterned headband with zigzag motifs. Large white ring ornaments hang from his ears. Deep creases mark his face, which features a furrowed brow and straight lips. A striped collar rests beneath his chin above a light shirt and dark cloak.
