A vertically oriented sepia-toned photogravure depicts an Apache infant with a medium skin tone secured within a cradleboard. The infant's face is centered, looking slightly right with a closed mouth. Swaddled in light cloth, they are bound by knotted ties. A woven, slatted sunshade arcs over their head, decorated with beads on our right. A large, dark frame supports the cradleboard against a shadowy background.
