A vertically oriented photogravure in warm, muted tones depicts a nude woman with a light skin tone from behind. Standing in shallow water, she holds a reflective sphere up to her face, her dark, loose hair obscuring her profile. The water extends toward a low horizon under a hazy sky. Soft light from clouds above reflects across the rippling surface and illuminates the contours of her back and right arm.
