A horizontally oriented engraving in black and gray ink depicts a stone gargoyle in profile extending from our right, its open mouth spewing a stream of water toward the left. Precise hatching and cross-hatching create deep shadows across the creature's scaly wings and horned head. Below, diagonal lines of falling rain wash over pointed rooftops and rolling hills. An artist's signature and the date, "Stephen Gooden 1933," are inscribed in the lower right corner.
