This impression of a book of woodblock-printed designs is missing a spread that depicts a crane.
A horizontally oriented ink woodblock print on cream paper depicts a pomegranate on a branch centered across an open book's pages. Jagged, dark ink strokes define the branch, while translucent gray washes shape the fruit and pointed leaves. The split pomegranate reveals a grid of seeds within. To the right, pointed leaves cluster, while a lone, thin twig sweeps toward the upper left.
