This impression of a book of woodblock-printed designs is missing a spread that depicts a crane.
An open accordion-style book depicts a black-inked cherry branch sweeping across two cream-colored pages. A gnarled branch curves from the lower left toward the upper right. Thinner twigs flare outward, bearing delicate, five-petaled white flowers and pointed leaves. Small buds and open blossoms scatter along the branches, creating a sparse, elegant composition against the plain background.
