Did You Know?

Shazanrō was one of Tani Bunchō's style names.
A horizontally oriented woodblock print in ink and muted color washes depicts an open book spread, bisected vertically by a central fold. Within black rectangular frames, a tan praying mantis and small black cricket face right on the left side. On the right, a large tan grasshopper faces right with long, arched antennae. Fine black outlines define the figures against off-white paper bordered by decorative orange and gold fabric.
