Did You Know?

Shazanrō was one of Tani Bunchō's style names.
A two-page book spread features a woodblock-printed hydrangea design on pale cream paper within black rectangular borders. On our right, a large, rounded blossom is composed of overlapping petals outlined in black ink. To the left, a second flower head emerges from teal-colored leaves with dark veins and woody stems. A small red square seal occupies the lower corner on our left, and golden floral brocade frames the open pages.
