Did You Know?

Shazanrō was one of Tani Bunchō's style names.
A two-page woodblock print features black-inked plum branches on cream paper. On the left page, vertical Japanese calligraphy and two red seals are framed by sparse, budding stems. The right page depicts a dense cluster of white blossoms with black outlines on a thick, dark branch. Enclosed in black rectangular borders, these designs are flanked by decorative fabric covers. The layout balances thin, curving lines with a heavy, textured floral arrangement.
