Did You Know?

Shazanrō was one of Tani Bunchō's style names.
A woodblock-printed spread features black ink on horizontally oriented cream paper. Two distinct pages display stylized silhouettes of birds and foliage. On the left, jagged dark plants cluster at the bottom, with a spindly branch reaching upward to a perched bird near a red seal. On the right, three birds rest on branches while two fly in the open space. Thin black rectangular borders frame each scene against the plain ground.
