A vertically oriented, fragmented piece of chocolate-brown silk is woven with a dense, repeating pattern of interlocking stepped lines that create a maze-like motif. Subtle reddish-brown undertones emerge in areas where threads catch the light. The irregular edges are jagged and heavily frayed. A horizontal tear separates the textile into upper and lower sections, while the dark cloth rests against a light-colored, plain-weave linen background that highlights its frayed silhouette.
