Multiple vertical rows of black-inked Japanese calligraphy flow down an open two-page spread of cream paper. The loopy script streaks from the top toward the bottom, with ink occasionally fading. Smaller sections of bolder characters are brushed into the lower half. The central binding vertically bisects the composition. Subtle brown spotting and slight wear mark the edges of the textured paper.
