An open woodblock-printed book features multiple vertical rows of black-inked Japanese calligraphy on cream-toned paper. The loopy characters streak down the spread, ink thickness varying across the pages. On the right, long columns sit above a series of shorter rows, while the left page is densely packed with text. Small red markings are scattered throughout. The warm, aged paper has a thin, plain border.
