A woodblock-printed book spread features vertical rows of black-inked Japanese calligraphy on cream paper. The fluid characters streak down the right page, varying in thickness with several bold, larger marks near the bottom right. The left page is blank. Light brown spots mottle the weathered paper, and a vertical seam divides the spread. The outer edge on our right is slightly worn and uneven.
