An open, horizontally oriented woodblock book features vertical rows of black ink calligraphy on aged, cream paper. The loopy, cursive characters streak down each page in flowing lines, creating movement from one character to the next. On the left, ten columns sit above a shorter row. The right page displays nine columns above smaller text groups. Faint horizontal lines cross the paper, which has darkened at its weathered edges.
