A woodblock-printed book of ink and paper rests open to two pages. Vertical columns of fluid black calligraphy cover the cream-colored paper. On both our left and right, dense, slender lines of script fill the upper sections, while larger, more widely spaced characters occupy the bottom. A center vertical seam marks the spine. The textured paper displays subtle yellowing along the outer edges and a few dark specks.
