An open book features multiple vertical rows of black-inked Japanese characters on cream paper. The loopy characters streak down each page, with ink occasionally fading. Brushstrokes range from thick to thin, creating visual rhythm across the surfaces. At the bottom center, a thin binding thread joins the two pages. Small, fainter characters are interspersed between primary columns, and the paper shows subtle yellowing with scattered dark spots.
