A woodblock-printed book spread features vertical columns of flowing Japanese script in black ink across two aged, cream-colored pages. Loopy characters fill the upper portion, with shorter columns aligned along the bottom. Small characters appear in the top margins. A central gutter contains visible binding holes, and the paper shows light staining and frayed edges. The ink characters vary in density, swirling down the page in continuous, elegant strokes.
