A horizontally oriented book spread features two facing pages of cream paper filled with vertical columns of black Japanese script. The characters are denser at the top, while shorter columns align below. Tiny red marks sit near the bottom edge. Dark binding holes punctuate the inner margins where the pages join. The paper shows a warm, yellowed patina, and the ink script flows down each column in a fluid, calligraphic style.
