A horizontally oriented book spread features fluid, frenetic strands of black ink brushed vertically across two cream-colored pages. Cursive calligraphy flows in dense columns, with strokes that splay and thin into grayed remnants. A vertical line of binding holes bisects the matte, textured paper. Below, smaller characters settle into organized rows. Occasional brown spots mark the aged surface, preserving the ink's movement against the surrounding cream paper.
