A horizontally oriented spread of two cream-colored pages features vertical columns of black Japanese calligraphy. Loopy characters streak down the upper portion, their ink varying in weight and occasionally fading out. Sparser characters and shorter columns occupy the lower sections. Five dark binding holes align along the central vertical seam of the aged paper, which exhibits slight creasing and scattered small marks across its surface.
