An open woodblock-printed book features multiple vertical columns of black Japanese calligraphy across two cream-colored pages. The fluid, connected characters streak down each page in varying thicknesses, occasionally fading into thinner lines. Smaller, more isolated characters punctuate the bottom edge of the columns. The aging paper shows scattered light brown staining and wear at the outer edges, where the book's blue binding is visible on the right.
