A vertically oriented cream-colored book spread displays two textured pages. On the page to our left, columns of black-inked Japanese characters are printed in a clean, vertical arrangement. The page to our right remains largely blank, showing subtle creases and age spots. Tiny fragments of blue paper reinforce the outer corners on our right. Small dark specks and a faint handwritten notation at the top left mark the worn paper.
