Black ink brushed on aged, textured paper features an open two-page spread bisected by a central fold. Vertical columns of fluid, black cursive Japanese characters are inked across the surface, showing delicate streaks and varying thicknesses. Shorter columns sit near the bottom edge above small red markings in the corners. The saturated ink contrasts with the tan paper, preserving the elegant, rhythmic flow of the woodblock-printed script across the composition.
