A woodblock-printed book spread features two pages of vertical Japanese calligraphy in black ink on aged, cream paper. Loopy characters in flowing script streak down the upper portions in irregular columns, where the ink occasionally fades. Below, shorter rows of smaller characters align across the bottom. The warm, muted paper has softened edges, and the bound volume's stacked pages create a textured border on our right.
