A woodblock-printed book spread features vertical columns of fluid, black-inked calligraphy on cream paper. The expressive characters streak down the pages, which are marked by small brown stains near the center. Below the main text, shorter rows of characters line the bottom edge. On the right, the layered edges of stacked pages are visible. Subtle creasing and darkening appear along the top of the aged paper.
