A woodblock print of an open book features two pages of aged paper filled with fluid Japanese calligraphy. Multiple columns of loopy, black-inked characters flow vertically down each page, occasionally streaking. At the base, shorter columns of larger, rounded characters are staggered. The paper's matte texture shows slight discoloration at the edges, and the blue-covered spine of the bound volume is visible on our right.
