A vertical engraving in fine black-inked lines depicts Christ's limp body lowered from a central cross. Four men on ladders maneuver his diagonal descent. To the left, three figures gaze upward. In the lower right, Mary slumps in grief, supported by another woman. A second cross with a figure stands in the background near distant buildings. Dense cross-hatching defines the dramatic, swirling clouds and textured robes.
