A vertically oriented etching in black ink features a solitary, distorted mushroom with a thick stalk curving right beneath a bulbous, folded cap. Fine lines and dense cross-hatching create texture against a background of etched, leaf-like forms. Printed text at the base reads "LE MALINGRE CRYPTOGAME." Inscribed Roman numerals occupy the corners, while a stylized, spiked symbol sits in the lower right on the aged, textured paper framed by faint plate marks.
