A circular, low-relief bronze medal with a warm, golden tone features a western scene. At the center, two oxen pull a covered wagon toward our right, accompanied by a figure walking at our left. Behind them, layered mountain ranges rise beneath a small sun in the upper left. Below the scene, NEW FRONTIERS is centered above a steer skull flanked by the numbers 18 and 49. Tiny text reads JAMES EARLE FRASER.
