Description

This sketchbook contains 69 pages of drawings, a diary largely devoted to the state of the artist's health, and a three-page discourse on the nature of genius and ideas.
A vertically oriented graphite drawing on blue-lined, tan notebook paper features six gestural sketches. In the upper center of the top page, a figure faces left, while another to our left extends its arms. Below, a third faces right, and a fourth sits upright to the right. The bottom page depicts two figures: one on our left faces right, and the other on our right faces us.
