A horizontally oriented lithograph in black ink on white paper depicts two mechanical steam engines, their cylindrical bodies shaded in high contrast. Plumes of dark smoke billow upward, filling the top half of the composition. A figure works between the massive wheels, while another stands beside a dark vertical beam to our right. In the foreground, dark tracks run diagonally across the frame beneath heavy, textured shadows.
