A dark-inked print depicts a portrait of a man with medium-dark skin tone. Looking toward our right, he gazes downward with a furrowed brow. Long hair and a thick, textured beard merge with the dense, grainy shadows of the background. Much of his face recedes into heavy darkness, while soft highlights glint on the bridge of his nose and forehead. The vertical composition is defined by deep shadows and a somber, dark, atmospheric, granular mood.
