Arcing along the upper rim, the names "PALMER," "WILKES," "BYRD," and "ELLSWORTH" appear in raised block letters separated by stars. "ANTARCTIC" sits at the base. A dark patina settles in the deep contours, while light glints off the smooth, warm metallic surfaces of the birds and lettering.
