A vertically oriented print in black-inked fine lines depicts a woman with light skin seated in a large, fringed hammock on a wooden porch. Facing our right, she watches a small bird. To her left, a thick column stands before dense, leafy foliage. She wears a long-sleeved dress with a ruffled skirt. Intricate hatching and cross-hatching define the textures and shadows. Text at the bottom reads "THE ROBIN'S NOTE — By Winslow Homer."
