A vertically oriented etching depicts a massive stone archway framing a complex architectural scene in monochrome. Heavy, weathered stone blocks form thick walls on either side. A rope with a weight hangs from the top center. Through the arch, a bridge with a decorative band of tiny figures spans the middle ground. In the distance, more stone arches and a tall column appear under a cloudy sky. Dense linework creates deep shadows and stark highlights.
