Description

A small candle would have been placed under this dish for keeping the contents warm at the table.
A circular silver and wood chafing dish features a bowl with two tiers of openwork scroll designs wrapping around the exterior. From our viewpoint, a dark wooden handle with bulbous sections extends to our left. Three curved silver legs, ending in dark wooden feet, support the bowl, while three silver supports curve upward and inward from the rim. The silver highlights the intricate pierced patterns and the sharp contrast of the dark wood.
