An oval bronze medal with a warm brown patina depicts the bust of John Charles Fremont in relief. Facing our left, he has wavy hair, a mustache, and a full beard. He wears a high-collared military jacket with rows of buttons and an epaulet on the shoulder to our right. To our left, capital letters read "JOHN CHARLES FREMONT" above "PATHFINDER SCIENTIST SOLDIER." The name "QUELIN" is inscribed on our right.
